Holiday crease-busters for when you haven't got an iron

Packing for a holiday or short break is exciting but unpacking when you get there can often be frustrating. Nothing kills the vibe faster than pulling out a crumpled outfit just before dinner or a day trip. If you’re travelling without access to an iron (or simply don’t fancy spending your break wrestling with one), there are a few clever tricks to keep your clothes looking fresh. Here are some crease-busting tips that actually work, so you can feel confident, comfortable and camera-ready wherever you go. And if you want to take things a step further, colour analysis or personal styling session with Inspired Styling can help you pack clothes that will have you feeling amazing every single day of your break and beyond
An hour or so before you're due to wear a creased garment, spray it with a generous mist of water and leave it on a hanger to dry naturally, or use a hairdryer for crease-busting heat. Top up with further sprays as necessary as it dries.
Hang creased clothes in a warm bathroom whilst you're having a bath or shower. The steam will help remove the creases and the clothing will naturally smooth out better when you're wearing the garment.
If your clothes aren't too detailed with frills and tailoring, you can use a hair straightener in place of an iron. This is ideal for holidays and overnight stays where you want to refresh clothing that's been creased in your luggage.

A small plug-in handheld steamer is a good solution if you're too much of a rush to set up an ironing board and wait for the iron to heat up. Somehow it's much more fun than using an iron too!
To minimise creases appearing in the first place, never over-fill your washing machine, always remove your garments as soon as the wash is finished and hang them up straight away. Give them a vigorous shake and stretch out your clothes fully to straighten out as many creases as possible. Line-drying is best to avoid creases as the breeze straightens out the creases naturally
If you really want to avoid creased clothing altogether, avoid buying natural fabrics like cotton and linen, and go for fabrics like viscose and polyester. Patterned clothes also hide creases better than plain garments. Rolling garments in your luggage rather than folding them is also an effective way to minimise creasing.
